October is the Month for Being Healthier: Day One

After a really tough September that followed many tough months before it, it is finally October.  And, I made the decision to make this month a focus on being healthier.  In April of 2008, I weighed 222.6 lbs.  Today, I weigh about 304 lbs. Each day in the month of October, I’m going to do one thing that makes me a bit healthier.  Right now, I don’t have things plotted out, but that may change as the month goes along.

For Day One, my healthy thing was getting a flu shot. I’ve been getting one every year since I started working at Cincinnati State. The one year I didn’t get one due to shortages, I had one of the worst cases of the flu I’ve ever had.  After a week on strike and stress levels at an all time high, it was time to prepare myself for the winter to come.

So, the month of being healthier has begun.  It will be interesting to see how it ends.
